Jean is preparing a birthday dinner for her mild-mannered accountant husband Henry. Good friends Betty and Vic are expected any minute and Jean is frantic because Henry is late. When he eventually arrives Jean finds him not quite the man he used to be. He has inadvertently picked up the wrong briefcase on the Underground and the contents have the potential to change his life. Life is never simple, however, and the separate arrivals of two detectives pursuing separate lines of enquiry coupled with an irate cabby leads to a frantic game of cat and mouse full of hilarious innuendo and a bizarre succession of assumed identities.
