Latest News of Auditions for the Garrick 2014/15 Season
As well as our already announced auditions for Yes, Prime Minister (scroll down this email for that information)
We are delighted to announce more auditions for our productions of ‘Oliver!’ and our youth production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’
OLIVER!
We will be holding the auditions for Oliver! over two afternoons
The first of these will be held on Sunday 12th October starting at 2pm
(the second audition day is to be confirmed at a later date)
This first set of auditions (on the 12th) will comprise of:
Fagin’s gang and Oliver Ages from 6 years to 16 years. Must be able to sing well
Followed later in the afternoon by:
Nancy (age look 16- 26 years). Will need to sing As Long As He Needs Me in the show key
Bill Sykes (age look 25-35 years) Will need to sing “my name” in the show key
Mr and Mrs Sowerbury (age look 30- 40 years) will need to sing a song of your own choice to show off your vocal range
Mr Bumble (age look 40-55 years) – will need to sing “boy for sale” in the show key
Widow Corney (age look 40-60 years)- will need to sing a song to show off a soprano vocal range.
Dodger (Age look 16- 20 years) Will need to sing a song to show off vocal range.

Due to the interest in this show already, approximate times for each audition segment during this day will be issued once we established the numbers attending.
The Phantom of the Opera
Youth Version – Show dates- 13th – 17th April 2015.
Audition Date: Sunday 2nd November 2014
10.30am – 4.30pm
We are looking for 16- 21* year olds to be part of this exciting production.
You will be required to take part in our full audition day to be considered for a place in the show.
* You must be 16- 21 years for the production week, your age during rehearsals is not important.
The Audition Day
10.30am- 11.00am– Introductions to the production team and the show
11.00am – 12.00pm – Acting/ Singing workshop
12.00pm- 12.30pm – Lunch (please bring your own packed lunch)
12-30pm – 1.30pm – Dancers audition
1.30pm- 4.30pm– Auditions for Principals, Supporting Roles and Ensemble

You must register/apply for the audition.
Once you have registered we will supply you with an audition pack.
Inside that pack each principal role has a song/songs that must be learnt fully for the audition.
You may audition for more than one role.
If you are wishing to be part of the ensemble we still ask that you audition as a role but state to the panel that you only wish to be considered for ensemble.
There is no other ensemble audition piece so you must pick a song from the pack.
Production Team
Director- Joseph Meighan
Musical Director- Daniel McDwyer and Choreographer- Kirsty Hooper
Full cast calls will usually be Sundays and Mondays with principals and dancers using Wednesdays.
Fridays will be rarely used.
Sunday rehearsals will be 10.30am- 5.30pm and week day rehearsals will be 7.30pm-10.00pm.
There will also full day rehearsals on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th, Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April.
A full rehearsal timetable will be given at the audition.

Auditions will take place at the theatre on:
Wednesday 24th September at 7.30pm.
This is one of the most successful plays in recent years. The original writers, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn have reunited for this new play based on the classic and much loved TV series with a new satirical take on Whitehall. Prime Minister Jim Hacker and his Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby are back, spinning out of control through the collapsing euro and austerity measures in a world of 24 hour news, Blackberrys and ‘sexed up’ dossiers.With the country on the brink of financial meltdown the PM is staring disaster in the face with his only apparent salvation in a morally dubious deal with the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan. Will Jim Hacker and his team of advisors be able to rescue the country from the edge? – Laughs galore in this comedy treat
