Speech & Drama / LAMDA Exam Lessons
In addition to our Saturday drama classes, the Garrick Academy of Performing Arts is pleased to offer both one-to-one speech & drama lessons and LAMDA Acting courses for young people aged 5-18.
LAMDA Acting Course
Designed for all ages and levels of experience, LAMDA Acting exams provide a great opportunity to develop performance skills and challenge yourself with progression through Grades 1-8. LAMDA exams are regulated by Ofqual and UCAS points are awarded at higher grades, particularly beneficial for those applying to university.
We run our LAMDA course 3 times per year, preparing students for public exams at LAMDA’s Manchester centre in November, April or July. Lessons are taught on a 1-2-1 basis, and the course runs as 10 weekly 60-minute sessions. The cost of this course is £200, plus an additional exam fee payable directly to LAMDA. Speech & Drama Lessons
Our speech & drama lessons are tailored to suit every individuals need; be it improving performance skills or increasing confidence in public speaking, these 1-2-1 sessions will ensure that all students achieve their own personal goals.
As a stepping-stone towards LAMDA progression, we also offer in-house assessments at the end of speech & drama courses, replicating an examination experience in order to build confidence for the future. However, assessments are not compulsory & lessons are tailored to suit the individuals’ needs, whether that is acquiring new skills or refreshing old ones! Our speech & drama courses run as 10 x 30 minute sessions and cost £100 (with an optional in-house assessment included).
Audition, Interview & Public Speaking Lessons
We also offer single lessons for those requiring help in preparing for auditions, university interviews or other public speaking events. Not only do we provide a fantastic performance space for rehearsal, we also have a qualified tutor to help you work through a variety of material and improve your confidence. The cost for a standalone 60-minute session is £30 and lessons are available throughout the year.
